NBSC MOVES CLOSER TO ISO CERTIFICATION AFTER SUCCESSFUL STAGE 1 AUDIT
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) has taken a major step toward ISO 9001:2015 certification after successfully completing its Stage 1 External Audit conducted by SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. on April 23, 2026.
The audit, which followed a detailed one-day schedule, focused on reviewing the college’s systems, documents, and overall readiness for certification. Key areas examined included management processes, internal audits, documentation control, and how well the institution understands and applies ISO standards.
In her opening message, the College President highlighted the importance of the activity, describing the Stage 1 audit as “a step closer to achieving ISO certification.” She also thanked the faculty, staff, and all involved for their hard work and preparation leading up to the audit.
The audit was led by Mr. Jose Emmanuel Thomas Diel, who worked closely with NBSC officials and staff throughout the day. The process began with an opening meeting, followed by interviews, and document reviews, and ended with the presentation of findings during the closing meeting.
What made the day even more memorable was the positive result. At the end of the audit, Mr. Diel announced that NBSC is recommended to proceed to the Stage 2 Certification Audit which is the final stage before full ISO certification.
The announcement was met with smiles and relief from the NBSC community, who have been working together toward this goal. The successful outcome reflects the college’s commitment to improving its systems and delivering quality services.
As NBSC prepares for the next stage, the entire institution remains focused and hopeful, knowing that the goal of ISO certification is now within reach.
